Taylor Swift’s 12,000-square-foot beach house sits atop the highest point of the Rhode Island town, serving as the destination for her famous A-list parties (she’s known for throwing Independence Day gatherings here). The historic property was once home to the eccentric socialite Rebekah Harkness, who inspired Swift’s song The Last Great American Dynasty. With seven bedrooms, eight fireplaces, a glorious pool, and shoreline views extending 700 feet, this mansion is one of her most impressive buys.
Earlier this year, Swift began leveling up the already palatial mansion with a $1.7 million expansion project, according to building permits. This includes the addition of a 16-by-24-foot bedroom suite and added bathrooms to the home’s floor plan. The kitchen, too, is getting a full-on makeover. The renovation, which was approved in January and is set to be completed by this December, adds 400 square feet to the property—and with her August engagement to Travis Kelce, there are already whispers that the estate could host their nuptials.
Local passersby have already observed construction underway, with with cranes and wood framing that show exactly what kind of ocean views that luxurious bedroom suite will get.
