Milford, Lymington and Hythe are among the most expensive places in England to buy a coastal property, according to new figures.
Topping the table is Sandbanks in Dorset, where the average property price is £847,500.
Data from The Property Buying Company has found the median property price in Milford and Lymington is £480,000, while the average house price in Hythe is £465,000.
Using internal data from 2023 to 2026, The Property Buying Company analysed 47 coastal areas across England to find the most and least expensive locations to purchase a property by the sea.
Commenting on the findings, company co-founder Karl McArdle said: “Dorset’s Sandbanks is renowned for its golden beaches and is a popular location for those looking to enjoy fine dining and upscale nightlife, so it’s clear to see why the attractive location ranks as having the highest median property value.
“For those looking for a more affordable coastal town to live in, Peterlee, in County Durham, provides a relaxed lifestyle whilst being well-connected, with the historic town of Durham nearby and Newcastle airport just over 24 miles away.”
