People with self-managed superannuation funds are the latest casualties of the federal budget after the government caved in to a demand by the Greens to ban the funds from borrowing to purchase residential properties and avoiding the capital gains tax increase.
The closure of the so-called loophole, along with an agreement to postpone by two months the passage of the legislation to reform the NDIS, means the Greens will now pass the budget bill in its entirety before parliament rises for winter at the end of next week.
