The outline application, from Salt Earth Ltd, seeks permission to demolish greenhouses and hardstanding at the former Mad About Dogs site, in Birdham Road, and replace them with detached homes and an office.
A design statement submitted with the application said: “The proposed development will deliver new employment facilities and much-needed housing within the district. The development would also provide significant public open area.
“The design has been very carefully considered to respect the local environs including heritage and landscape and will create a real sense of place which future generations – occupiers and visitors – will come to appreciate.”
