The Yorkshire division of Bellway Homes is opening Lancaster Fold at Stump Cross, Chapel Hill, on Saturday May 30 at 11am.
The 195-home development ranges from one-bed semis to 5-bed detached, including bungalows and terraces.
Melanie Smith, Bellway Yorkshire’s sales director, said: “It’s not just about square footage and sales for Bellway. We’re here to build sustainable homes, shaped around the requirements of today’s buyers, and as a result create new communities that people are proud to call home.

“Therefore, we thought what better way to start in Boroughbridge than asking the local population to nominate someone to come and officially launch the development.”
“There’s no limit on who can be nominated – it might be a teacher whose influenced hundreds of thousands of local school children over the years; a lollipop person; local councillor; a local personality; or even a youngster who’s set their school sports teams alight with their skill and enthusiasm. We simply want to celebrate the local community at a time when we’re here to add a new element to it.”
Melanie says the Lancaster Fold development is already attracting much interest.
She added: “The wide cross section of house types alone would normally mean you’d get a steady flow of enquiries ahead of launch, but when you add in the location – which combines great transports links and a popular market town location – it’s fair to say that we’re heading for one of the biggest number of enquiries ahead of a launch that any of us can remember.”
To nominate a local hero, e-mail bellway@sourcemc.co.uk before Monday May 18 with details of who they are, why you’re nominating them and their contact details.
