Five lenders, including Onity Mortgage, have expanded their partnerships with Blend to include Autopilot, the company’s new agentic AI solution for mortgage pre-underwriting.
SAN FRANCISCO, July 07, 2026–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Blend Labs, Inc. (NYSE: BLND), today announced the first commercial customers for Blend Autopilot following a four-month early preview.
Five lenders, including Onity Mortgage, one of the largest mortgage servicers in the nation, have expanded their partnerships with Blend to include Autopilot, the company’s agentic AI solution.
This comes after a 4-month preview period, where lenders activated Autopilot across more than 25,500 loans and provided feedback that shaped weekly product releases.
The result is an AI agent built with customers and refined through thousands of real loan applications, not demonstrations or prototypes.
The preview numbers showed that loans using Autopilot during pre-underwriting moved faster and converted at higher rates than comparable loans following standard workflows.
Autopilot moves from early preview to commercial availability
Mortgage origination has a timing problem: more than half of borrower activity happens outside of 9-to-5 business hours, which means borrowers routinely go a day or more without a response from a loan officer.
Autopilot solves this by reviewing documents as they are uploaded, comparing them against lending guidelines, identifying missing or inconsistent information, calculating GSE-driven qualifying income, and generating contextual follow-up requests while borrowers are still engaged. Instead of discovering issues days later, lenders resolve them while borrowers are still completing their application.
“Autopilot is live, working on real loans, and improving every week,” said Nima Ghamsari, Co-Founder and Head of Blend. “Waiting for a mortgage loan to close can be one of the most stressful parts of buying a home. Agentic AI can help lenders complete more work earlier, reduce delays, and give borrowers faster answers. That’s the future of lending we’re building with our customers.”
Onity Mortgage expands its AI strategy with Autopilot
Onity Mortgage has already seen Autopilot identify needed information from customers and check off completed tasks earlier across the loan file.
“Onity Mortgage (formerly PHH Mortgage) has seen consistent impact across all condition types surfacing and clearing conditions faster, resulting in quicker response times,” said Colin Friday, Senior Vice President of Consumer Lending at Onity Mortgage.
