Major UK broadband provider is on the brink of collapse with £2.7 million debts

A prominent UK broadband provider serving 250,000 customers is teetering on the edge of administration with £2.7million in debts. Pulse Fibre Ltd – which provides services to over 250,000 households – is battling for its survival. The broadband company is in crisis after accumulating millions of pounds in debt. It has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.
This follows an announcement last November, prior to Christmas, when it emerged that Pulse Fibre, an altnet provider, had expanded its existing financial support schemes by unveiling a £100 million rebate programme targeted at property developers. Pulse Fibre has historically operated a rebate scheme, chiefly aimed at property developers, designed to help subsidise expenses when incorporating their full fibre broadband infrastructure into new-build developments.
However, the provider declared its intention to guarantee a £100m investment in “substantial rebates” spanning the next five years, reports Birmingham Live.
The company stated: “By partnering with Pulse Fibre, developers can offset development costs through a rebate programme that helps reduce the financial burden of fibre installation, freeing up capital for other key areas of construction.”
“Each property is delivered with full-fibre connectivity from day one, ensuring fast, symmetrical broadband that enhances both sales appeal and buyer satisfaction,” the announcement read. The provider highlights that installing Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) technology typically accounts for a “small percentage of total build costs”, yet can deliver a “disproportionately large impact on buyer satisfaction and property value”.
The statement added: “The company works closely with construction partners to streamline installation, coordinate with site timelines, and ensure minimal disruption during the build process. With infrastructure costs rising and digital expectations higher than ever, now is the time for developers to explore Pulse Fibre’s rebate initiative.
“Whether planning the next site or already breaking ground, partnering with Pulse Fibre ensures that every home is equipped with the connectivity needed for a truly modern lifestyle.”
