Here in Worcester the River Severn frequently bursts its banks, flooding homes, displacing families, closing shops and restaurants and leaving businesses struggling.
Scientists warn that climate change is making these storms stronger and more frequent.
Net zero is not a cost.
It is an investment in our future, providing energy security, warmer and more efficient homes and lower bills.
It also delivers cleaner air, stronger flood resilience and greater food and environmental security.
Practical measures such as renewable energy, insulation, sustainable drainage and tree planting benefit everyone.
They protect families, secure jobs, strengthen communities and support nature.
For Worcester, climate action is not ideology.
It is common sense and our duty to our children and future generations.
