Since 2015, more than 35,000 homes across Scotland have been supported through the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme and has supported 4,418 households in Central Scotland.
Ms Adamson said: “The Warmer Homes Scotland scheme is there to help people in Scotland make their homes warmer and more comfortable by installing a range of energy saving improvements.
“This Scottish Government support is for homeowners and private sector tenants who meet certain criteria and are struggling to heat their home
“I am encouraging my constituents in Motherwell and Wishaw to check their eligibility for the scheme and to see what support might be available.
“My team and I have done a lot of good work with Home Energy Scotland and Warmworks amidst soaring energy bills and I am pleased to learn that nearly 4,500 people in Central Scotland have benefitted from this support scheme.
“However, the sad fact remains that thousands of people are being pushed into poverty by the UK Government’s punitive social security regime and energy suppliers simply must do more to support vulnerable customers – particularly people on prepayment meters who are being shoved into the margins.”
