Virgin Media is rolling out a new service which promises to solve one of the biggest problems with your broadband.
If you’re fed up with dismal downloads and broken broadband you might want to sign up for a new service from Virgin Media. The popular broadband firm has just announced the launch of its new “smart support” platform which promises to constantly monitor connections and make sure users stay online.
Virgin says that this service will check customers’ WiFi Hubs 24 hours a day and assess the health of the connection.
Any potential issues – including speed drops and disconnections – will be automatically flagged to help build a full picture of the Hub’s performance.
To begin with, Virgin will offer this idea to 300,000 customers with a full rollout coming in the future.
Those enrolled will get always-on monitoring and automatic problem solving which attempts to fix issues overnight.
If things aren’t mended, personalised advice will then be sent to help the user solve the glitch and if that doesn’t work the customer will be invited to book a free engineer appointment at a time that suits them.
Virgin also says that later this year, its smart support service will become more sophisticated so it can accurately diagnose a wider range of in-home connectivity issues.
It’s also hoped that smart support will be able to enhance the journey for new customers during the install period and provide guidance on tackling in-home WiFi blackspots to ensure great signal throughout the home.
Speaking about the new service, Director of Connectivity at Virgin Media O2, Gareth Lister, says: “Virgin Media has long been recognised for ultrafast speeds, but we also know that reliability is equally important which is why we’re rolling out a new, innovative smart support service that will proactively act as a helping hand to fix network niggles and optimise the performance of our connectivity – often with customers not needing to do a thing. Smart support will evolve over time, reducing hassle for our customers and further improving connectivity for those that need it to offer a best-in-class service for all.”
