The eight houses will be built at the former Arun Feedmills site in Sincox Lane, Shipley, near Horsham.
According to the proposals by developer Forays Homes, the properties will be a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes.
These will all be “family-sized” and built around a central courtyard.

The houses, which will be built on what is a vacant brownfield site, will each have their own parking space and electric charging point.
They will also have large open-plan kitchens that connect to a private garden with a secure cycle shed.
Inside, the living rooms will have space for woodburning stoves to add to the country feel.
The properties will have double bedrooms, some with ensuite bathrooms and dressing rooms.
The plans were approved by Horsham District Council last week despite some objections.
One resident said: “Eight is a very high number of dwellings to add to a quiet country lane.
“The proposal would cause a large increase in noise and light pollution in an area that is very peaceful and has considerable natural beauty.
“The increase in road traffic and implications of this for road safety are also a concern.”
Another neighbour said: “The development is far too big for a small country lane and will have serious implications for road traffic, road safety, noise and light pollution.”
But some villagers said they would rather have new homes on the site than a commercial premises, which would be a possibility if these plans were not approved.
One person said: “It will complement the area and maintain the countryside street scene.”
Another neighbour said: “I give this application my full support and I trust the members can see the viability of such a well thought out scheme. The biggest concern is if housing is not permitted then it will eventually go the route of a unsightly commercial buildings.”
