An extreme cleaner has revealed how she spends up to five days transforming strangers’ homes – all for free.
Diana Jones, 23, from Manchester, started cleaning peoples homes after giving her mum’s, house a ‘deep clean’.
Since she started, Diana has cleaned 10 houses in total and said it can take up to five days to finish.
She said the houses are the ‘worst environment’ she will find herself in but said it is rewarding when she sees the final result.
Diana said: ‘Some families will reach out to be as their family member is struggling or has a disability.
‘Every single situation is different and I think it is incredible that so many people ask me for help.
‘The recent house I did was a hoarder house. The living conditions were poor and it took me five whole days.
‘I love the fact I am able to help people and their reaction is always emotional.’
Diana started cleaning full time in January 2024 after helping her mother out with the house work.
She realised that her mother was too busy to constantly be cleaning so offered a helping hand.
Diana said: ‘My mum has five kids in total, she is always busy. She is always taking my siblings to after school clubs and she does not have the time.
‘I stepped in and helped her out. I was chuffed and she was chuffed about it.’
After she cleaned her mother’s home, Diana posted the transformation videos on social media and started getting people reaching out to her for help.
The last house she cleaned belonged to a hoarder and took her five days to complete.
Diana said: ‘Describing the state of the homes is hard. They can be very intense.
‘It is not for the faint hearted I would say. You need to have a thick skin to be able to clean them and walk in and do what you do.’
One of Diana’s recent cleans was for a family who lived in a in a four bedroom house who wanted somewhere to eat and bathe.
The kitchen was filled with hundreds of flies and she spent two and a half hours clearing a living room filled with rubbish.
After she has cleaned the home, Diana doesn’t charge them a penny. She said: ‘I don’t charge people a penny. I bring in my own cleaning supplies and they get a nice clean house.
‘I have a lot of empathy and once I realised how any people need to help and can’t afford it, I wanted to help.
‘I think there isn’t enough help for people in the UK and if there is anyone that can offer a helping hand it is incredible.’
Diana said that people often get emotional when they have seen what their house looks like after Diana has been round to clean.
She said: ‘I have had reactions where people have got very teary. I am so happy that I can make an impact on their life.
‘Their normal is not our normal. They deserve like anyone else to breath in their own space.
‘I just think what I do is amazing and people should help when they can.’
