Developers have been given the go-ahead for the final piece in a jigsaw of new housing on the outskirts of Exeter.
Persimmon Homes South West has secured planning consent for the final phase of development at Hill Barton Vale, near the Met Office headquarters.
A total of nearly 200 homes make up the development, which was first given planning consent in 2021.
Persimmon is delivering a third of the new homes, with 35 per cent of them reserved for a local housing association. The company says the much-needed zero-carbon-ready homes will be connected to the district heating network and fitted with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.
Animal boxes and sustainable drainage systems further bolster the site’s eco-friendly credentials, it says.
Persimmon Homes’ initial three phases of Hill Barton Vale are already finalised and its homes are occupied. This latest consent signals the completion of the entire site.
