Since its first edition four years ago, the WOW!house decorator showcase at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour in London has given interior-design lovers access to the work of some of the world’s best designers, up close and in person.
The showcase, essentially an extremely elegant pop-up bungalow which is in situ until July 2, comprises 22 rooms and outside spaces, each of which has been created by a top designer – and installed in just five days.
This year’s line-up includes designs from Francis Sultana, Studio Duggan, Elicyon and Salvesen Graham, and the results are astonishing: every room, no matter its size, is filled with detail and inspiration; and no surface, whether wall, ceiling or tabletop, is left unadorned. Here are some of the lessons we learnt when we took a tour.
It’s important to make an entrance
As Darren Price of ADAM Architecture has demonstrated, even a bungalow can have an imposing entrance. Sponsored by Size Group, his elegant façade is inspired by the architects who shaped Georgian London, but with a modern twist.
