“The UK’s leading provider of affordable mixed tenure homes”, Vistry Cotswolds, is currently building a collection of 140 energy-efficient houses and bungalows under its Bovis Homes brand at Hopfields in Ledbury – a location accessed off Leadon Way and around a mile from the town centre.
A sales centre and two new show homes were unveiled on Saturday, June 29, when members of the public got their first chance to see the site in person.
Ledbury Town Council Deputy Mayor Councillor, Elizabeth Harvey, cut a red ribbon to officially open the sales centre. Councillor Stef Simmons, vice chair of Herefordshire Council, also attended to watch the launch of the new development.
Hayley Ody, regional sales and marketing director for Bovis Homes, named Hopfields as “one of the first developments built by Vistry’s Cotswolds division to feature solar panels and electric vehicle charging points on all homes, alongside other measures such as wastewater heat recovery systems and improved building materials to maximise energy efficiency.
“As well as energy efficient properties, Hopfields will feature a dedicated ecological area with woodland, a meadow and a picnic area – designed to create an attractive space for new residents while also enabling local wildlife to thrive.
“It was a pleasure to meet councillors Harvey and Simmons and to have the opportunity to show them the eco-friendly community that we are creating here. It was also the first chance for potential buyers to look inside completed homes at the development.
Ms Ody hoped this would give “an appreciation of the quality of work that has seen us achieve five-star status with the Home Builders Federation for the past five years.”
Bovis Homes say construction work is “progressing well” at the site, set to put 84 of the properties up for private sale and 56 affordable homes for local people through low-cost rent or shared ownership.
Hopfields will feature two and three-bedroom bungalows, with their range of two, three and four-bedroom houses available for prices starting at £299,995.
