Gaming International hopes to build more than 100 new homes on the former home of Swindon Speedway, along with a convenience store, a micro takeaway and other retail units, a community café, sports club facilities and multi-function spaces.
Swindon Borough Council will debate whether or not to approve these plans at a future meeting.
Here’s what you had to say on the matter.
Timothy O’Sullivan said: “Amazing that one of the top Speedway Teams in the UK over many years has been trashed by utter greed.
“Any of the other towns/cities with great Speedway Teams are rightfully proud of them, but here they were just a problem standing in the way of profit. Shameful conduct from every person involved.
“The last time I went to Swindon, it was packed, there were thousands there, and it was a league fixture, not a special night. They did seem well supported to me.”
Christine Parsons said: “They mention all the lovely community hub, etc, but where are the GPs, dentists, and a new hospital?
“Who is going to be able to afford these houses? This council are blind to the major issues we have in trying to get GP appointments and to see a specialist.
“No more houses until we have a bigger hospital and healthcare.”
