Property consultancy Tulip Real Estate has completed the acquisition of the five-star Hilton property in Syon Park, London, UK, for around £30m ($40.68m), strengthening its move into luxury hospitality.
The 137-key luxury spa property is situated within the 200-acre Syon Park Estate close to Brentford.
Launched as a Waldorf Astoria for the 2012 London Olympics, the Syon Park property was rebranded as a deluxe Hilton in 2019.
The acquisition from American investment fund Lone Star includes the hotel as part of a four-property portfolio.
Hudson managed the asset during the transitional phase, with Tulip Real Estate now assuming the role of new owner.
This transaction showcases Tulip Real Estate’s growing interest in premium investments and its focus on the UK’s heritage properties.
Led by founder and managing director Sidd Mahajan, the company owns several historic hotels such as the nearly 300-year-old Warbrook House Heritage Hotel and the almost 400-year-old Whately Hall Hotel.
Tulip has a track record of refurbishing formerly derelict properties, merging historic preservation with contemporary luxury.
The Hilton property acquisition is the company’s first major hotel partnership in the UK, conducted through a joint venture with an operator managing six luxury hotels within the country.
Countrywide Hotels will oversee the operational management of the property.
