Zenzic Capital, the real estate credit and special situations investment manager, has announced that Chris Blowers will join as a senior advisor as Zenzic continues to expand its lending activity across its property development finance, special situations, and Zenzic Estate Planning Service (ZEPS) strategies.
Blowers has a long career in corporate banking and property development finance, holding senior positions at Royal Bank of Scotland, Allied Irish Bank, and Investec Bank.
He co-founded Maslow Capital LLP in 2009, growing it into one of the UK’s leading providers of property development finance.
This appointment closely follows the recent hire of Simon Brown as head of real estate development finance lending and the addition of two further team members earlier this month. Brown and Blowers have previously worked together successfully, and their combined experience is expected to help Zenzic source and structure a variety of transactions with experienced developers.
Since its foundation in 2014, Zenzic has provided debt finance throughout the UK in sectors including logistics, student accommodation, residential, hotels, and leisure. In January, Zenzic launched a new £500m UK purpose-built student accommodation strategy, which will invest in existing stock and develop new assets.
Nadine Buckland, CEO of Zenzic Capital, said: “Chris is very well known in the industry with an impressive track record of originating and executing deals as well as building successful businesses. His expertise and insight will be invaluable in supporting Tom and I as we expand our lending activities and secure Zenzic’s position as a leading real estate investment manager.”
Blowers added: “Zenzic has an outstanding reputation as a straightforward, flexible lender that is well positioned to help SME developers navigate the challenging current macroeconomic environment. I have known the highly regarded leadership team for many years and believe that they have the opportunity to grow into a leading player in the sector.”
