An independent publisher has revealed it is set to invest further in newspaper offices.
Tindle Newspapers has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining town centre premises after refurbishing the office of the Wellington Weekly News, in Somerset.
The refurbishment comes after other Tindle titles in the South-West of England, including the Cornish and Devon Post and the Mid-Devon Advertiser, moved into new town centre premises in recent years.
Weekly News staff had moved out temporarily while the work was carried out.
Scott Wood, managing director of Tindle Newspapers, said: “We are delighted with the new look Wellington offices, which gives staff a more positive working environment and cements our strategy of investing in high street premises.
“Wellington is an important location for us so we are very pleased with the work delivered.
“Having visible, accessible premises at the centre of communities we serve is vital for generating the trusted local content which maintains our uniqueness.
“Across our regions, our focus remains on reporting on the stories which are most important to local people, generating marketing opportunities for advertisers. Maintaining a high street presence is part of our plan to ensure this continues to be achieved.
“Our brands continue to evolve, but the emphasis upon localness and trust will remain at the heart of what we do. We are hoping to announce investment in similar projects in due course.”
