The Investment Association (IA), the industry group for the UK’s asset management sector, has teamed up with global investor intelligence platform Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI) to co-host two investment events in London this June, spotlighting the UK as a global investment hub.
The partnership underscores the UK investment management sector’s global significance, with the IA’s 250 members managing £9.1 trillion in assets, half of which is held on behalf of international clients. The UK is the second-largest investment hub globally, behind only the United States.
As part of the collaboration, the IA will play a key role in the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute’s Global Wealth Conference (GWC), which takes place from June 17-19 in London.
Key GWC themes will include investment in emerging technologies, digital infrastructure, life sciences and clean energy — all vital sectors where institutional capital can help bridge funding gaps and accelerate innovation.
The IA will also take centre stage at the Global Investment Management Summit (Gims) on June 10–11 at London’s Guildhall. Backed by the UK Government, Gims aims to showcase the UK’s investment expertise to global asset owners and policymakers.

SWFI will support the IA’s participation in Gims, adding its global network and data insights to amplify the UK’s strengths in investment management to an international audience overseeing more than $30 trillion in assets.
The events are set to draw top global investors, reinforcing London’s status as a key hub for capital and ideas.
Jack Knight, deputy CEO of the IA, commented: “The IA’s partnership with SWFI is an exciting opportunity to showcase how the UK is shaping the future of global investment. We look forward to working with SWFI on both the Global Wealth Conference and Global Investment Management Summit in June, in what is set to be an exciting month for welcoming international investors to London.”
Michael Maduell, president, SWFI, added: “We’re pleased to partner with the Investment Association to highlight the UK’s pivotal role in global capital markets. These events bring together long-term institutional investors from around the world to explore where capital is heading, from digital infrastructure to climate innovation. London has long served as a bridge between global capital and opportunity, and we’re proud to contribute to this important exchange at both the Global Wealth Conference and the Global Investment Management Summit this June.”
