Schroders has announced the appointment of Dan Morris as head of investment, with part of his remit being to drive growth in public markets.
Morris has previously held roles at Wells Fargo Asset Management and was part of its executive team that established its spin-off Allspring Global Investments.
At Allspring he led a global team and oversaw the strategy to deliver highly customised portfolios at scale. He also led the firm’s UK office.
He spent much of his early career at Schroders, where he managed LDI Solutions in London and US portfolio solutions in New York.
Morris will be reporting into Johanna Kyrklund, group chief investment officer.
Schroders said: “Dan will bring together many of Schroders’ strengths in active management, including strategic modelling, asset allocation, derivatives, quantitative techniques and sustainable investment.”
He will also be utilising technology such as AI.
Kyrklund said: “We are delighted to welcome Dan back to Schroders. He is a highly experienced quant investor and his innovative approach and client-focused mindset will be invaluable as we build on our market-leading capabilities to scale our platform and support continued growth.
“As a key member of our Public Markets leadership group, Dan will play an important role in helping us deliver excellent investment performance and strengthening our position as a leading global active investment manager.
“Staying close to our client needs is critical and Dan’s experience will help us break new ground in delivering value for clients worldwide.”
Morris added: “Schroders is one of the most respected investment brands globally, with innovative capabilities and deep client relationships.
“The opportunity to return to such an incredible team of investors, to scale its capabilities and contribute to the growth of the business globally is an exciting opportunity and I’m looking forward to rejoining the team in 2026.”
