Senior figures from the offshore wind industry will meet in Aberdeen and London on 6 and 7 May as Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) hosts its Wind Insight 2026 breakfast briefings, amid growing pressure on grid access, transmission costs and investor confidence.
The events will platform the launch of OEUK’s Wind Insight 2026 report and updated UK Offshore Wind Farm Development Processes Guidelines.
They come as the sector assesses the implications of grid reform, the outcome of the seventh Contracts for Difference auction and intensifying competition for global capital.
The Aberdeen briefing will focus on Scottish supply chain readiness and opportunities emerging from ScotWind and INTOG.
The London event will address investment challenges, policy requirements and market developments needed to strengthen investor confidence.
OEUK Energy Policy Director Enrique Cornejo said: “Offshore wind is central to the UK’s energy system but delivery at scale is dependent on policy frameworks that maximise project competitiveness, allocate risk effectively and provide confidence over grid access, fair transmission charges and firm delivery timelines.”
Discussions across both events will also examine the growing challenge of curtailment and the long-term policy and price environment beyond 2030.
