The supermarket chain confirmed that Driffield will be home to a new branch, with further upgrades planned for existing stores in Bradford and Harrogate.
This investment forms part of Aldi’s broader £12,795,000 commitment to Yorkshire and is part of an ongoing nationwide expansion drive.
Giles Hurley, chief executive officer of Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “As well as opening new stores, we’re also investing in existing ones to make sure everyone can get what they need from Aldi.
“By extending some stores, and by upgrading and improving others across the country, we can serve even more customers while creating better shopping environments for our colleagues and shoppers.
“Together with our new stores, that will mean more people can access Aldi’s high-quality products at unbeatable prices.”
The investment is part of Aldi’s £1.6 billion, two-year programme aimed at expanding its footprint to 1,500 stores across the UK.
In 2025, Aldi opened new stores in locations including Kirkintilloch, Eastbourne, Fulham Broadway, and Deeside.
In addition to opening new sites, the retailer is also set to upgrade and extend existing stores to improve the customer experience and make shopping more convenient.
Last month, the supermarket was named the UK’s cheapest by consumer champion Which? for the fifth year in a row.
Aldi also secured the title of Cheapest Supermarket for January 2026.
