RBC Capital Markets has named David Tweedie and David Holden co-heads of its real estate investment banking unit, Green Street News can reveal.
The pair are responsible for driving results in real estate capital markets as well as debt and property brokerage operations. The appointments were effective in May.
Holden in May rejoined RBC, where he has spent the bulk of his career. Most recently, he was at BMO Capital Markets for two years as a managing director, and prior to that, was with Oxford Properties as a vice president.
Tweedie has 20 years of commercial real estate advisory experience and has spent the past 17 years with RBC. For the last three years, Tweedie led the Canada brokerage practice, working with major clients across all real estate asset classes.
Under his leadership, RBC brokered the $1.16b sale of Toronto’s Royal Bank Plaza to Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega on behalf of Oxford Properties Group and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
