M&BG Group, the Birmingham-based property and facilities maintenance specialist, has secured a six-figure investment from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund II, delivered through fund manager Frontier Development Capital (FDC).
The funding will support the company’s growth plans, including expansion into new regions such as the northern Midlands, Devon and Cornwall, the creation of more than 20 new jobs, and investment in electric vans and equipment to service a growing contract base.
Founded in 2005, M&BG now employs over 200 staff across its Birmingham headquarters and regional offices in Loughborough and Bristol.
The company provides a wide range of services, including property and grounds maintenance, and window and gutter cleaning.
Its client list includes sites such as Maybird Retail Park, Birmingham’s Rotunda, and Eton College, as well as organisations like West Mercia Police, Circle Healthcare, and Bournville Village Trust.
Following a series of acquisition, most recently Affordable Cleaning Supplies in 2023, and a number of new contract wins, M&BG has doubled its turnover in the last two years.
Phil Marsh, founder and CEO said: “This investment represents a major milestone for M&BG. Over the past few years, we’ve built a strong foundation for growth, and this funding will enable us to take things to the next level. We are focused on creating long-term jobs, expanding our service offering, and continuing to deliver the high standards our clients expect.”
David Tindall, Senior Investment Manager at the British Business Bank, added:
“The Midlands Engine Investment Fund II supports businesses across the Midlands, driving sustainable economic growth by creating opportunities for growing companies in the region.
“M&BG Group is an excellent example of a Midlands business with over two decades of industry experience, now entering an exciting new phase of growth. This latest investment demonstrates our commitment to backing ambitious companies that are not only expanding across the Midlands but scaling nationally. We’re proud to support M&BG Group as it creates new jobs and brings its services to an even wider market.”
