The highly experienced investment services division will provide solutions which seek to utilise both a qualitative and quantitative approach to investment and asset management.
HTL Property’s Investment Management offering is managed by the firm’s National Director, James Smithers; who brings a quality-first investment philosophy to clients seeking optimal returns through sustainable management practices.

Over the course of his career, James Smithers has advised institutional, syndicated and private investor groups deploying capital, navigating change management, strategic divestments, turnarounds and creating arbitrage opportunities for Opco/Propco structures – and in doing so supporting clients across finance, operations, and divestments events.
Accordingly, Smithers has been engaged to advise some of the largest global institutions and high profile domestic investors in the hospitality and leisure sector; earning an MBA, BA and recording almost 25 years experience operating in Australia. Smithers is based in HTL’s National Head Office in Sydney; and supports HTL’s existing coverage of the Asia-Pacific region.
