Leading mortgage and specialist finance firms have pledged their support for the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter’s (MIMHC’s) second alcohol-free lunch, set to take place in London later this year.
HSBC UK, Virgin Money, Nottingham Building Society, Landbay, Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) and L&C Mortgages are among the first organisations to back the event, which will be held at the Grand Connaught Rooms on 9th October.
The MIMHC said the event is designed to encourage conversations around mental health, workplace wellbeing and leadership within the mortgage and specialist finance sectors.
The alcohol-free lunch aims to provide an inclusive environment for lenders, brokers, networks, distributors and industry partners to discuss wellbeing and share best practice.
Funds raised through sponsorship and attendance will support the work of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Foundation CIC, helping to fund Mental Health First Aid training, educational initiatives and wider wellbeing support.
Jason Berry (pictured), co-founder of the MIMHC and group sales director at Crystal Specialist Finance, said: “It’s incredibly encouraging to see so many respected organisations committing their support so early in our process.
“Their involvement demonstrates that mental health and wellbeing are no longer viewed as optional initiatives but as fundamental elements of building successful, sustainable businesses.
“Every organisation supporting this event is helping us create lasting change across our industry.
“Together we’re investing in healthier workplaces, stronger leadership and ensuring more people know that support is available whenever they need it.”
The organisation said sponsorship opportunities remain available as it seeks further support from across the sector.
Will Lloyd, co-founder of MIMHC and group chief operating officer at Brightstar Financial and Sirius, said: “The momentum behind this year’s lunch reflects just how far we’ve come as an industry.
“I’m hugely grateful to HSBC, Virgin Money, Nottingham Building Society, Landbay, MAB and L&C for leading the way.
“Their support sends a powerful message that together we can continue breaking the stigma surrounding mental health while creating workplaces where people can genuinely thrive.”
