ING Bank is the world’s best bank for mortgages in 2026 not just for its large mortgage book but also for its unusually innovative attitude as a lender.
With €370 billion in mortgages outstanding, the Dutch bank’s service and origination engine is much less based on branch networks than other banks. In many of its retail markets – from Spain and Poland and all the way to Australia – that orientation has helped it gain an important share of local mortgage business, despite the lack of a large branch network.
