Plans have been revealed for a huge change
New plans could see up to 500 homes built near the border of Cheshire and Stockport. Lovell Strategic Land has revealed a scheme for the new estate based at Lostock Hall Farm in Poynton.
It falls under Cheshire East council but sits close to the border with Stockport near Woodford.
The developer submitted an environmental impact assessment scoping report to Cheshire East council in March and Stockport council was notified in April as the neighbouring authority.

According to planning reports, the plans include up to 500 new homes alongside public open space, landscaping, affordable housing, and infrastructure works.
The new homes would be built on a patch of land to the west of Poynton, based between the A523 Poynton Relief Road and Lostock Hall Road.
It is also a short distance from the A555 Airport Relief Road.
New housing development is a controversial issue in Stockport, where some parts of the borough struggle with traffic congestion.
In Woodford, local councillors have previously spoken about some of the issues residents are facing.
In October last year, Councillor Peter Crossen addressed the issue at a public meeting.
He was speaking in the context of plans by Redrow Homes to build 540 homes at Woodford Garden Village.
Coun Crossen said at the time: “More and more families are going to have to drive to get their children to school every morning and afternoon, and that’s going to impact more and more, especially when you add on to it the impact of the Handforth Garden Village development and the impact that’s going to have.
“It’s already congested roads, trying to get on to the A555 at rush hour is chaos.”
