Ulster Unionist MP Robin Swann has welcomed a major defence investment, saying it reflects Northern Ireland’s strategic value to the United Kingdom’s national security. Swann, who raised the issue directly with Defence Secretary John Healey MP, pointed to the region’s engineering expertise and capacity to contribute to UK defence.
