A Cumbrian law firm has appointed its new head of residential property.
Kendal-based Thomson Hayton Winkley, which also has offices in Windermere, Kirkby Lonsdale and Crooklands, has welcomed Nina Hood to the role.

She is a licensed conveyancer and leads a team of 14 fee earners, trainees and support staff.
Ms Hood said: “The firm has a strong reputation for delivering a high-quality, client-focused service and I am looking forward to building on that further by supporting the team, encouraging collaboration and ensuring we continue to provide a smooth and efficient experience for our clients.
“I am keen to combine my experience with a forward-thinking approach, including embracing technology to continually improve how we work and the service we deliver.”
Suzie Fisher, managing director at Thomson Hayton Winkley, said: “Nina has been a real breath of fresh air since joining the firm, bringing a great deal of energy and fresh ideas which have already had a positive impact.
“She and Sasha work extremely well together, providing strong mutual support and adding real strength to the team.
“We are also delighted to have welcomed Phil Capstick into our dispute resolution team and Katy Harkin into the private client team.
“Both have shown great enthusiasm, and we have already received very positive feedback from clients.
“We are always looking to grow the team with the right people, and to embrace the ideas they bring, as part of our ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible service to our clients.”
The firm has further expanded its team with the appointment of Phil Capstick, a trainee solicitor specialising in dispute resolution, and Katy Harkin, a solicitor in the private client team.
Ms Harkin focuses on wills and inheritance matters, estate administration, and future planning.
Thomson Hayton Winkley employs 60 people across its offices, including its specialist branch, The Rural Law Practice, based at the J36 Rural Auction Centre in Crooklands.
The firm and The Rural Law Practice were acquired in 2023 by the MAPD Group.
