First Mortgage, part of Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) Group, has acquired Home Loan Services (Glasgow) Ltd to strengthen its presence in the Scottish new build market.
Home Loan Services (Glasgow) Ltd will keep its current team, MAB trading style and operating model.
Both companies will remain independent with separate Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and business registrations, allowing broker choice across the region.
The deal forms part of First Mortgage’s ongoing investment in the new build sector.
The businesses will combine their resources while keeping their individual propositions.
Ian McGrail, CEO of First Mortgage, said: “This acquisition represents an important step in strengthening our support for the Scottish new-build market.
“Home Loan Services (Glasgow) Ltd is a highly respected business with longstanding relationships across Scotland’s major housebuilders, and we’re delighted to welcome them into the business, while ensuring they continue to deliver the same high level of service their partners and customers have come to expect.”
Harry McGeough, managing director of Home Loan Services (Glasgow) Ltd, said: “We’ve worked closely alongside First Mortgage for many years, and this latest move allows us to build on that relationship.
“It’s very much business as usual for our partners and customers, with the same team, the same service, and the same focus on delivering for our builder partners – now with the added benefit of greater scale, investment, and long-term security.”
Felicity Barnett, new build & affordable housing manager at MAB, said: “Bringing together two highly respected businesses under the wider MAB Group strengthens our ability to support housebuilders and buyers across Scotland, while maintaining the independence and specialist expertise that underpin both firms.
“This acquisition reflects our commitment to our new build brokers, combining the strength of both businesses with continued investment to support growth and enhance their proposition.”
