What began in the Black Country in 2005 has grown into a powerhouse of integrated construction and in-house manufacturing. With two advanced local production sites supporting every project, Amphion now manufactures the steel, cladding, purlins, flashings and industrial components that form the backbone of industrial, commercial, residential and community developments across the UK.
Between its Tipton and Walsall plants, Amphion processes around 50,000 tonnes of steel every year, giving the business unrivalled control over quality, consistency and project efficiency.
-
Tipton – £8m, 75,000 sq. ft facility:
-
Home to cladding, flashing and industrial door manufacturing, powered by a highly skilled team of 45 local employees.
-
Walsall – £20m, state-of-the-art manufacturing site:
-
Produces the purlins and angles that underpin Amphion’s steel-framed units, supported by more than 100 full-time staff.
This vertically integrated model ensures every project is delivered with precision, pace and pride, a defining theme throughout Amphion’s 20-year journey.
A standout example featured in the new anniversary project showcase is the ambitious regeneration of the former Toys R Us site in Oldbury. Once derelict and overlooked, the building has been completely reinvented as the Birchley Island Retail Park.

Amphion led the full subdivision and refurbishment, transforming the site into a vibrant destination that now hosts major brands including B&M, Farmfoods, JD Gyms, Swim!, Tim Hortons and McDonald’s. The redevelopment has breathed new life into the area, creating jobs, supporting local enterprise and restoring a long-neglected landmark.
Reflecting on the anniversary, Stewart Bowen, Founder of Amphion Group, said: “Reaching 20 years is a proud milestone for everyone at Amphion. It’s our people, our local manufacturing facilities, and the projects we’ve delivered across the UK that have made this journey possible. As we look to the future, we remain committed to innovating, investing, and creating spaces where communities and businesses can truly thrive.”
That future is already taking shape. Amphion’s next major development the £18 million Hitachi Energy scheme in Staffordshire is now underway, reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality industrial and commercial spaces that support innovation, growth and community value.
As Amphion marks this milestone, the business continues to invest in land, property and its in-house manufacturing capabilities, ensuring it remains at the forefront of UK construction for decades to come.
