British Gas, OVO, Octopus, E.on and EDF customers can all get the power which can be used on weekends
Households across the UK is being offered 25 hours of complimentary electricity throughout November. Sky Money revealed that the free hours will be accessible during November for households who download the complimentary Uswitch app and register for the programme.
Residents have merely 48 hours to register – and will receive weekly notifications in November to select a five-hour complimentary electricity window for the forthcoming weekend. It makes no difference which energy supplier you’re with – meaning British Gas, OVO, Octopus, E.on and EDF customers alongside everyone else can participate.
Uswitch stated: “Sign up before 31 October to take advantage of another great way to save on energy costs just as the energy price cap increases.”
“Power up all of your hoovering, laundry and other household chores done – on us!”.
To be eligible, you must link your smart meter to the app and register before 31 October.
Following registration, you’ll be able to select from Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon.
Following each five-hour period, Uswitch will work out how much electricity you’ve consumed and credit the money gained into an “Earn” section within the app.
Once the final complimentary electricity period concludes, the earnings can be transferred to your bank account.
Uswitch continued: “As long as you have your electricity smart meter connected to the Uswitch app by 31 October, the 25 hours of free electricity is available to you no matter who your energy provider is.
“If you’re part of a demand flexibility scheme (DFS) with your energy provider, you’ll still be able to participate in this offer as well. For 25 years, we’ve been helping customers save on their electricity bills. Now, we’re helping customers to get ahead of higher energy costs this winter with 25 hours of free electricity across 5 weekends this November.
“This exclusive offer is part of our Power Hours scheme, where you can earn with your smart meter year-round. To get this offer, all you have to do is connect your smart meter and sign up to Power Hours with the Uswitch app by 31 October.”
Uswitch recommends you time your washing and other power-hungry chores to match the free periods to help households maximise the deal.
By doing this, you’ll also reduce pressure on the national grid. For more information click here.
